The characters featured on this page are divided into two independent 'groups' so to speak. Characters from one group interact with members of their own group, not with any outside of it. They're on separate universes, basically! So let's call them "verses" instead, groups sound kinda lame in comparison. Wtf was I thinking.

I like making character and general plot ideas and then not writing them lol So outside of some short, disconnected snippets, there's isn't an actually written story on either of these verses. Hopefully that will change one of these days! But until then, this is all there is.

The poor Dorks got stuck with that name because I'm an indecisive creator and I can't choose a title for their verse. Some of the ideas I've had floating in my head were W-E (Whenever-Everywhere) which feels a little too nonsensical even for me, and EAN (Everywhere and Nowhere) which is a little more fitting for the main story but I'm still unconvinced.

So, plot! It's basically a death-or-escape that takes place in a Theater Hell Dimension called "The Box" where reality starts to break apart and bend a little, all at the whims of a figure called the Director. The participants are assigned a numbered card from a suit (pentacles, wands, swords and cups) to represent them. This card thus becomes their 'soul' and any damage or loss of it could carry serious consequences. Said card is also inside of the participant's chest, and to pull it out they have to either lower their defenses and let someone else do it for them, or be so close to death they can't put any resistance against having it taken away.

The endstate of this game is finding an exit out of this twisted dimension, of which there are two possibilities: find the one (1) key that allows one (1) person to leave, or have all cards from each participant instead.

One of my oldests ocs, I've had her since I was an angsty pre-teen and as such she has seen many changes throughout the years, though her general appearance has remained the same surprisingly enough.

She's a protagonist and the only pov character. A young woman who nearly died in a car accident when she was 13 and spent the better part of seven years in a coma. As a result, she is pretty disconnected from all of the stuff that happened to her prior to her waking up, as if all of it was a movie about someone else.

• She has trouble communicating with people, in both spoken and written language.
• She's very quiet and prefers to listen to others speak.
• Is very bad at puzzles/riddles.
• Used to be a gifted ballet dancer as a child, works as a dance instructor now.

She was conceptualized as a co-protagonist, someone who is more hands-on than the mostly passive Selina. As such, Regina is only seen through Selina's pov, who thinks she's meeting her for the first time.

Unberemost to Selina though, her and Regina's stories are entangled in a messy web full of resentment and trauma that runs very deep. Regina is a woman on a path of destruction and revenge, willing to take herself out if it means killing the people who wronged her.

She's very conflicted though, and ultimately a good person at heart. much of her pathos in the story is between her justice seeking determination and not wanting to put good people at risk.

I'm not afraid to say I have a bias towards her, I support Regina in all of her wrongs.

• She's very good at lying, but sometimes her lies start to blend with the truth.
• Always on the move, she has trouble settling down in one place.

Axel is a very old oc who has seen a lot of changes in his appearance. Maybe because of this I've made "likes to change his looks" a big part of his personality. He uses his hair to express himself!

He was actually in the same accident that left Selina in a coma, being in the other vehicle with his older brother Ethan, who did not survive the crash. His brother was awful to him but he still feels survivor's guilt and copes in very unhealthy ways. He's the third protagonist and the last piece of the Dork Trio.

• Depressed alcoholic with an addiction to pills, but tries not to look the part.
• Madlad actually went to study astrophysics while being a cat-boy e-boy, respect.
• Keeping up appearances is very important to him, which rubs Manuel the wrong way.

Among my characters, Manuel is truly the baby of the bunch, being a later addition to the core group. He's not officially a part of the trio though, because he disappears pretty early on in the story, seeding distrust among the participants.

He's just a super nice guy who lives with his abuela and is studying to become a veterinarian. Manuel tries very hard to keep morale up and an optimistic outlook, but he tends to shoulder other people's problems when he really doesn't have to.

• Manuel was raised catholic and thus lives with that religious trauma and repression.
• His abuela is very old fashioned, but has tried dropping hints that if he were ever to come out as gay, she would still love and accept him (he won't come out) (just talk already)
• He greatly admired Axel's brother, Ethan. May even have had a puppy crush on him before everything went to shit.
